This project consists on the renovation of an 18th century mansion (a "casarão") and its transformation into an educational center for poor children of Salvador's historic center, Pelourinho.
The client - Casarão Association - requested that this old building had its façades restored - while keeping the Colonial style preserved - and its interior rearranged to accommodate the building's new use.

The first stage of this project was the development of the following plans for the entire building: 1 - Construction / Demolition; 2 - Layout; 3 - Electrical Installations; 4 - Lighting; 5 - Interior Finishes.
Once these plans were completed, we followed to the second stage of the project: the production of more detailed plans, along with interior elevations, of a room selected by the professor.
I was to develop the interior design of the 38m² Casarão Café.

The interior design of the Casarão Café was thought to translate balance. The walls - in neutral colours associated with unfinished brick areas - contrast with the polished surfaces of the kitchen countertop (in black marble), cabinets and pendants (in bright red), which, in turn, reflect light into the cafeteria. With the intent of promoting a warm and comfortable ambiance, wood was the material most employed in this design.
